There is no doubt that Illa J has some big shoes to fill being the blood brother of J Dilla who with no debate one of the most influential hip-hop producers in the world. Just recently Illa J released his debut album, Yancey Boys, on Delicious Vinyl. All the beats on this album were produced by J Dilla originally back in 1995-98. Some of these beats were actually crafted for the Pharcyde’s sophomore LP, Labcabincalifornia. In till recently these gems were just sitting in the vault.
