NIZ - Stay real ruggen 'n raw



Niz was born in Lima, Peru. She moved to the United States at the age of four. At an early age she began her career as an artist working on murals, fliers and zines through out the San Francisco Bay Area.. A passion for graffiti, skateboarding, hip-hop, reggae, and punk rock led her to creating artwork on skateboards. Over the years she has worked on countless projects in various mediums on her own and other artists around the world. Check some Art & Interview!

Scratch's long awaited Loss 4 Wordz album drops next week. The groundbreaking beatbox artist and member of the world famous Roots crew took some time to break down the making of the album for fans, including working with the guests on on the record, hooking up with The Roots, and more. Loss 4 Words featuring Kanye West, MOP, Musiq Soulchild, Peedi Crakk, Talib Kweli, Damon Albarn and more will be out May 26th on Gold Dust.

Numero Group is a little label based out of Chicago founded by self-proclaimed "record obsessives” that may possibly be the answer to any crate diggers wet dream. Instead of focusing on what the music industry is going to announce as the next big thing they’ve focused on searching out dusty diamonds in the rough and bringing them back to life. Since I’ve been a studio rat in Detroit for sometime now I’ve had the pleasure of discovering some soulful gems that have been sitting in family vaults for three decades. Nothing surprises me anymore. Numero’s latest release, Smart’s Palace, is a compilation that gives you an insight in to a hungry funk, soul, and R&B scene that was brewing Wichita, Kansas in the late sixties and early seventies. "Le Disko"

BURNS’ '2 (‘Turbo’/’HeartBeats’), is the second installment in his series of four singles (these being BURNS’ ‘1’/’2’/’3’/4,’ the title being representative of the number of tracks on each release). Further tracks will be issued later this year, before a debut album in 2010. The first of the single series for BURNS saw the UK April release of 'DISKO'.
