A little bit of musical History

One of Detroit's assets has always been creativity. The world sees and hears the worst of today's struggles but the foundation and cultural richness is still flowing. The sad part of the story is whats been left behind. So many beautiful venues, so much history, so many memories have been forgotten. The Grande Ballroom was just one of these memories. If you have an interest in this sort of thing you should google the place and see what you find.

Chromeo - DJ-KICKS

The Montreal duo Chromeo continues in hot pursuit of the funk on the latest installment of DJ-KiCKS, !K7's acclaimed DJ mix series that has resulted in classic, definitive sets from artists like Kruder & Dorfmeister, Playgroup, Tiga, Erlend Oye and Hot Chip, to name but a few. (It's first DJ-KiCKS, in fact, since Booka Shade's 2007 contribution). Read On!

Michna - Eggstra EP

Coming off successful North American & European tour dates, Michna chases the gleaming instrumental hip-hop of Magic Monday with the Eggstra EP (released July 7th): two new originals and three remixes-worth of world-spanning swagger. New tracks “The Dust Off” and “The Joy of Your Dome” expand upon Magic Monday’s finer points, while remixes from Eliot Lipp, Osborne, and Star Eyes & Mayster turn Michna’s arrangements inside-out. “Eggstra” though it may be, Adrian Michna’s new EP is on par with his finest work, keeping the magic going seven days a week.
