Blaq Poet's Tha Blaqprint drops June 30th

For the many of us that have been awaiting Blaq Poet’s new album, Tha Blaqprint, the wait is near over. Tha Blaqprint is a raw and honest reminder that there is still something pure dwelling in the mist of today’s oversaturated and watered down so-called music industry. A lot of artists want to talk about how the foundation, lifestyle, and image of hip-hop culture has been distorted, exploited, and degraded. This is true but all they do is talk about change instead of being the change. The Truth is that most of these artists haven’t never really had the talent, heart, and sound to be the change.

Back in 1987, Queensbridge, NY native began to gain some attention by entering himself in the legendary Queens vs. The Bronx battles with his song “Beat You Down,” which was a brutal attack on KRS-One. Over the years Blaq has been part of several successful projects which has allowed him to work with the likes of Pete Rock, Marley Marl, and long time friend the legendary producer DJ Premier of Gangstar.

Tha Blaqprint is almost entirely produced by Premier with the exception of a few tracks produced by Easy Mo Bee (Notorious B.I.G., GZA, 2Pac) and Gemcrates. It’s nothing less than a contribution to the list of classic bangers you should have in your collection. The Blaqprint will drop June 30th on Year Round Records via Fat Beats. You need this!
