Artist of the Moment -Dave Chung aka The Chung
Having grown up in fast paced brightly colored cities such as those found in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and then spending the later years of his childhood in Upstate New York and the Midwest hunting frogs and insects, Dave Chung's work portrays the similarities we all deal with when it comes to dealing with our emotions, no matter how different we may be on the outside. Although his subjects generally deal with humiliation or some other type of anguish, they are generally shown in a light hearted and humorous way that suggests that we have all been down that road before, and if not, we know exactly how it would be like if we did. Kids and adults alike have shown a great deal of attention to his work as being funny, vibrant and relatable. Dave has shown his work from New York City to Los Angeles, as well as internationally in Germany, Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. As a fine artist, Dave has sold numerous works to the Hollywood stars and celebrities, as well as having been commissioned to do paintings for Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) and Kevin Smith (Clerks) just to name a few. Dave currently lives in Los Angeles and works fulltime for an animation studio out in Beverly Hills as a lead character and background designer.
